Prime Minister-designate Vasile Tofan is set to present the composition of the new Cabinet of Ministers and the government program to Parliament on Tuesday, July 21, in order to secure a vote of confidence. The Tofan Government mostly retains the ministers from Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu's team, many of whom have been part of the Executive since January 2023, when the government led by Dorin Recean was inaugurated. According to Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, the new Prime Minister will need to make "very tough decisions" regarding salaries in state-owned enterprises, attract investments, and complete the opening of all negotiation clusters with the EU by the end of this year.
